Wanderburg First Run and Early Progression
Your first progression loop is easier to understand as a sequence of questions: what can I consume, what does that let me expand, what build direction does the run support, and what should carry into the next attempt?
On this page
Use each run to solve one bottleneck, then convert the result into a focused between-run experiment across Modules, Vehicles, Artifacts or Captains.
Confirmed claims
- The official store describes consuming settlements to expand the castle and experimenting with builds.
- The official store lists multiple biomes, difficulty levels and between-run unlockable systems.
Still to verify
- Exact progression gates, costs and optimal biome order need a live run.
Update when
- Hands-on testing verifies the first unlock gate or a reliable early route.
- A patch changes progression or between-run systems.
- Route
- Consume → expand → build → challenge → unlock
- Scope
- Early progression, not a speedrun
- Exact gates
- Pending live verification
1. Consume what advances the run
The official description makes consumption the central action: villages and fortresses are targets in the castle’s expansion loop. Start by learning which nearby targets help you make the next meaningful move.
Do not turn this first pass into a route puzzle. The useful observation is what your current run can safely consume and what that unlocks immediately afterward.
2. Expand, then choose a direction
Expansion is not the finish line; it creates room for the next build decision. Choose one role—Siege, Arcane or Burst—and let the next few decisions test that identity.
The Builds page keeps these as decision directions rather than declaring a current winner. That is deliberate while exact stats and live balance are still being checked.
3. Challenge stronger targets and learn from failure
Once the castle has a coherent direction, use the next stronger target as a test. If the run fails, label the bottleneck before selecting the next unlock.
Across runs, the official store identifies Modules, Vehicles, Artifacts and Captains as the progression layers to investigate. The optimal order is an open hands-on question, not a fact to fill in from the retired Demo.
- Consume → create room for expansion.
- Expand → commit to a readable build direction.
- Challenge → name the bottleneck.
- Unlock → test one improvement on the next run.
